Description
Everyone has a seat at Christ's table, no matter where you are on life's journey.

SAFE
It's ok — even encouraged — to be honest about our doubts, questions, and experiences with God

EMPOWERING
A community culture grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ, where people are emboldened to grow, serve, and live out their faith in public.

WE ENVISION A PEOPLE WHO:
Know they are deeply loved by God.
Realizing we are not perfect but perfectly loved by God for who we are.
Live as children of a loving God.
Finding our identity in belonging to God, not in fear, failure, or shame.
Practice calm in a chaotic world.
Learning to be centered and unafraid in the midst of trouble and pain.
Become peacemakers.
Helping people experience the peace Jesus offers by becoming peacemakers in their homes, neighborhoods, and communities.

MEET PASTOR AARON CARTER
In the summer of 2024, I accepted an invitation from the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church to move from Austin, Texas to St. Louis, MO to participate in a church plant lab.
During the yearlong training at the Gathering UMC, I prayed for guidance on next steps. As I spent time in the city getting to know some of its history, culture and people, I sensed a draw to stay and start an empowering multi-cultural church here.
St. Louis isn't my first stop. I was born in San Antonio, but once lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, New York, Atlanta, and most recently, Austin, Texas.
Regarding ministry, it was the summer between my senior of high school and my freshman year of college when I had an experience that convinced me I was called preach the good news of Jesus Christ.
To prepare for pastoral ministry I enrolled at the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta. It was also at this time when I also took on my first church staff position as a youth minister and executive assistant to the senior pastor. I've been in ministry ever since.
I want you to know that on my journey there were times I felt unseen, neglected, and worthless to God. I questioned God's love for me, and I doubted my own value, which held me back in several ways. I tell you this because I understand I'm not alone. Life is complicated. People question and doubt. It's okay. The other reason I share this personal information is because I know personally that believing in Jesus' interpretation of God assures us that God loves us and that we are beloved children of God.
As a human and pastor, I desire this for everyone. It’s why I encourage people to try Jesus for themselves. I want them to experience the blessed peace of knowing they too are children of a mindful and present God.
